I once wished for no problems; or, that I’d never awaken in the wee hours of the morning with bothersome thoughts reeling through my head.
I once wished I would never encounter racism, ageism, genderism or any of the other isims out there.
I once wished that I’d never experience disappointment, defeat and disparity.
I would fall upon my knees at night and wish upon the star so bright that I’d encounter everything good, kind and everything lovely.
I once wished everything would go my way.
But, as life would have it, I experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. And, now I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my experiencing these things, I’ve learned to ignore ignorance, laugh at stupidity, and stand up to adversity. I’ve grown stronger and wiser.
This South Bronx born and raised woman finds excuses futile, and victimization unattractive. I honestly believe anyone can achieve any goal with hard work, patience and tenacity; overcome any problem real or imagined.

And, while striving to be all you desire, on your golden path you’ll learn to leap over hurdles leading to the open-door set before you. Thereby, walking through and embracing your true self and your true purpose in this life.
