I once wished I would never encounter racism, ageism, genderism or any of the other isims out there.

I once wished that I’d never experience disappointment, defeat and disparity.

I would fall upon my knees at night and wish upon the star so bright that I’d encounter everything good, kind and everything lovely.

I once wished everything would go my way.

But, as life would have it, I experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. And, now I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my experiencing these things, I’ve learned to ignore ignorance, laugh at stupidity, and stand up to adversity. I’ve grown stronger and wiser.
